Warm-up and Cool-Down Principle

Each workout effort should be preceded by a warm-up and conclude with a cool-down. The following effects are created by warm-up and cool-down.

Warm-up:

  • Increases body temperature
  • Increases respiration rate and heart rate
  • Increases flexibility and reduces chance of muscular injury

Cool-down:

  • Speeds removal of metabolic wastes
  • Help prevent cramps, tightness and soreness
